I have written about the debonair Steve Nobel and my admiration for his knowledge of complex aspects of the business side of the interior design industry. It is with these inspiring individuals who influenced my career in mind that I am proud to announce the official launch of The Lina Collection and my designer fabric line, Lina Fabric.

The Lina Collection luxury designer furnishings line initiates with my signature couture fabric series. I created Lina Fabric with the intent to address a diverse range of residential and commercial luxury interior design clients through a comprehensive selection of styles, colors, materials, patterns, weaves, and uses. Since the dawn of my career, my design vision has always been built on the belief that being a top interior designer means placing the design goals of the client at the forefront. The Lina Collection couture designer fabric line accomplishes my goal by offering universal design diversity.

I extend my special thanks to all the individuals who helped make my dream of launching a designer fabric line turn into a reality. Magazine For Her Timeless Fashion SenseWhen SoScottsdale! Magazine, a leading fashion and style magazine in Scottsdale, Arizona, notified me that they wanted to publish a feature on my timeless sense of fashion, I literally radiated excitement. I was entirely flattered. As a lover of all things design and fashion related, on a personal level, this is an honor that transcends my early professional accomplishments in the field of interior design and business. When the magazine published and I discovered that they featured me next to Trina Turk, I felt as giddy as a child in a candy store.

In order to view the article on SoScottsdale.com, please visit the following direct link:
SoScottsdale! However, in both my professional and personal experiences, fashion rates a very close second. Both of these industries require a similar creative gene that forces the mind to think outside-of-the-box. In a similar manner, these two industries parallel each other in that they mandate the need to move fast and keep up with the trends. Whether I am sifting through upholstery fabric for a custom upholstered chair or I am in the Nordstrom’s Designer Department shopping for a dress, I am having fun.

Thank you SoScottsdale! Magazine. I appreciate you thinking to include me in your publication. This high mark of distinction was authenticated by a panel of five judges who sifted through a field of over 175 competitors. Initially, the group of competitors was divided into two separate lists of the top 35 males and 35 females. Then, the combined top 70 male and female candidates were pared to the ultimate list of Arizona’s top 35 Entrepreneurs, 35 and Under.

This is an award that I will never forget. To be recognized at 27 as one of Arizona’s up-and-coming business leaders is a remarkable accomplishment. Yet, with this accomplishment comes tremendous expectations for the future. This past Tuesday, I had the pleasure of spending an entire day with Steve that I will never forget.

Steve Nobel is known in the luxury interior design and designer home furnishings industry as the preeminent source of business consulting models. His knowledge of the inter-workings of the interior design trade is without question unparalleled. He exudes an approachably confident understanding of highly technical interior trade issues and when the opportunity presents itself, he visibly beams with pride to impart his valuable information. When Steve speaks, even the talkers stop to listen to his words of wisdom.

Personally, as a young entrepreneur, I appreciate and admire the fact that Steve challenges me as interior designer. He constructively plays the role of devil’s advocate and he causes me to think outside-of-the-box. Amidst the design process, I was offered the opportunity to participate in an interior design video featuring the Showhouse and its many magnificent features.

This was my first foray into the world of creating interior design videos. At first, I thought I was going to be very nervous once the camera started rolling. Shockingly, I felt completely at home in front in the camera and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire process. Over the course of several hours, I got a small taste of what it must feel like to be an HGTV Design Star. Who knows, maybe one day soon, I will submit to one of the casting calls or local competitions.

I offer my thanks to those individuals at Arizona Foothills Magazine, The Martz Agency, and Paradise Valley Mountainside Homes who contributed to the production of the video. It was an honor and a pleasure to be a part of the event and the interior design video. I thank you all for your time and effort.

In the near future, I look forward to developing and presenting more interior design video content. For those of you who have not met or heard of Barbara, she is one of the top interior designers in the world. Barbara is an interior design guru who has designed her own private lines of furniture, fabric, lighting, and other luxury décor items. Her versatile design brand is purchased by both luxury consumers as well as by luxury interior design trade members. Personally, I have a great fondness for Barbara Barry’s designer furnishings and décor because of her exquisite taste and the uber level of sophistication of her product lines.

From chatting with Barbara, I learned that interior design is not just a vocation but a lifestyle that can be achieved through dedication, hard work, and a positive attitude. Barbara spoke about her mother being a great source of inspiration for her. Her upbringing in California is reflected in her color palette which can be described as soothing, calming, and rejuvenating. In order to add additional depth to her soothing color palette, Barbara successfully infuses a variety of extraordinary textures. Barbara’s fabrics are of superlative quality that I rarely see in this field. I love Barbara’s fabrics so much that I am currently designing the kitchen in my home with a number of her fabulous fabrics.

At the end of the day, I can’t go without saying that Barbara Barry is one of the loveliest and most endearing women that I have ever met. Her background is inspiring, her charm is affable, and her smile is positively infectious. When she speaks to you, Barbara has the ability to make you feel like you are the only person in her world. For one amazing evening, I was able to garner her attention and since that time with her, I have been more inspired than ever before.

Respectfully,

Lina Quintero
Interior Designer

Lina Quinterohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08290022261448775855noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3933191040643082043.post-19307374394695488902009-04-30T17:51:00.000-07:002011-07-29T10:51:01.249-07:00Paradise Valley Arizona Interior Designer Showhouse 2009As the final weekend for the $20 Million 2009 AFM Designer Showhouse in Paradise Valley, Arizona comes to an end, I can't help but think how encouraged and optimistic I feel about the Arizona interior design community. In hopes of increasing awareness of their individual companies, several of the Valley’s most talented interior designers joined forces to design the interior of this magnificent mountainside home.

For this amazing event, I was presented with the challenge to design the library. Ultimately, I took the rules of design and threw them out the window by opting for a highly eclectic approach to design. I infused a balanced blend of the old and the new as well as masculine and feminine elements. I believe the eclectic mixture caused the library to stand apart from the rest of the competition. I noticed that as the Designer Showhouse tour guests entered my room, they would suddenly lower their voices and the ooohhs and ahhhhs would begin.

Two beautiful contemporary chairs are balanced by a vintage chair from the 1940's. The chairs are anchored by a dominate black velvet chesterfield sofa. The detailed cherry cabinets and coffered ceiling help to create a sense of intimacy in the room. The color palette is ruled by black, creams, and grays. The texture in each material offers the room a sense of depth. The vintage books that I found in Phoenix antique shops give the room a feeling of comfort and warmth. I have spent a tremendous amount of time in this room and I hope the buyer of this magnificent home appreciates the library’s charming qualities.

This AFM Designer Showhouse was my first exposure to this type of event and it was a privilege to have the opportunity to contribute my efforts. I am humbled and honored to have been listed side-by-side with my esteemed colleagues from several of the Valley’s notable interior design firms.

Respectfully,

Lina Quintero
Interior Designer

Lina Quinterohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08290022261448775855noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3933191040643082043.post-31310759759249318372008-10-02T11:23:00.000-07:002011-10-08T17:42:51.426-07:00Luxury Interior Design - by Interior Designer Lina QuinteroSince this is my first blog, I thought it would make sense to formally introduce myself by providing some background information about my life as a luxury interior designer.

From an early age, I was constantly fascinated by the dynamic, sophisticated realm of luxury interior design. Through my passion for art and art history, I realized that my destiny was leading me toward a complete immersion in the fascinating realm of high-end design.

At age seventeen, I was fortunate to secure a position at the esteemed luxury residential interior design firm in Scottsdale, Arizona known as Elements of Design. Seven years later, I made my return to Elements of Design as the owner and lead interior designer. As of October 2011, I am starting taking my dream to the next level by creating Lina Design Studio. Now, I truly have the freedom to create interiors that work well for clients!

My motivation as a luxury interior designer is driven by two primary factors.

First and foremost, my residential, commercial, and hospitality clients are the most fascinating, well-rounded group of individuals imaginable. I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to nurture meaningful relationships with each and every client that I serve. More often than not, by the end of an interior design project, the relationships with my clients expand into the realm of friendship. The relationships that I develop as a result of the intimacy of the luxury interior design process are extraordinary and priceless.

Secondly, I am perpetually in awe of the exquisite nature of the products that I sift through on behalf of my clients. The range and quality of the furniture, fabric, accessories, wall coverings, etc… are simply mind-boggling. From time to time, in order to come back to reality, I have to pinch myself. It is all too often that I get lost in the artistic fantasyland of luxury interior design products.

I appreciate you taking the time to read my introductory luxury interior design blog. In the future, I will present design trend information, happenings in the industry as well as within Lina Design Studio, innovative product information, and much more…

Respectfully,

Lina Quintero
Interior DesignerLina Quinterohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08290022261448775855noreply@blogger.com0
